Sometimes things that are so obvious and simple to improve take years or decades to happen. Then sometimes it seems overnight the world gets smarter. You decide which version this is:
Smart Huh?
The whole ‘green’ movement and crunchy granola stuff sometimes sounds idealistic or like a marketing craze, when in reality I think most people just want to live smarter. According to GOOD, ‘we love to tout sustainability in the consumer sector, but of the 60 billion pounds of plastic discarded annually, only 7 percent is recycled—meaning that billions of pounds end up in landfills. That said, recycling shouldn’t be our only objective; the other Rs (reduce and reuse) should be our primary targets.’ This is where ideas like Replenish have a real chance to change our world for the better. Because it’s Smarter.

According to the statement under their video, “Real sustainability can best be achieved by creating better-made products designed to be reused as well as recycled. Replenish’s flagship product is an eco-friendly, ultra concentrated multi-surface cleaner in a radically new reusable bottle. Not only does it make cleaning easier but it saves you money and it’s better for the environment.” Heck, even our stores could be smaller as they would need less shelf space, thereby saving them rent and and perhaps reducing our costs to cover their overhead. Simple. Smart.
I really think their take on Becoming a Reuser is where they get really smart, “We love recycling. Unfortunately, all too often recycling is just throwing away something, but done with a better conscience. Where it goes after it’s out of your hands is a matter of faith. We know you expect better. And we know we can all do better. Let’s reuse what’s already been made. Let’s get a couple of more lunches out of those sandwich bags or find something for a shoebox to hold. It’s a smarter way to use products. It’s a better way for us all to live.” I agree. Long Live Smart.
