Goodbye City Hall, Hello City Park 2.0

The loud noise you heard on Wednesday was not thunder, it wasn’t the dumpster being emptied, it was the boom being lowered into city hall. The old Woodstock City Hall and police department buildings on Arnold Mill Road were demolished. It took almost a year to build the complex and less than an hour to tear it down. This is the first step in a planned expansion of the Woodstock City Park.

The bricks were removed from city hall exterior prior to demolition and will be recycled and used in the City Park expansion project. Woodstock City Park 2.0 is designed to have an amphitheater, public restrooms, concession stand, perhaps a water feature (for the kids), and an extra wide sidewalk (25′) to accommodate the summer Farmer’s Market and special even tents.
