Carmax supports Local Woodstock Arts Scene

Carmax of Kennesaw recently donated $5,000 to the Towne Lake Arts Center for the improv troupe/little read program this season.

Towne Lake Arts Center is soon to merge with Elm Street Cultural Arts Village to form the largest arts project in the history of Cherokee County. The Elm Street vision includes creating an entire village focused on cultural arts. The 4+ Acre project will include restoring the old Reeves House, building community gardens, hosting farmer’s markets, constructing a new performance art theater all conveniently located off I-575 in Woodstock on Elm Street.

The Village is planned to be connected to the GreenPrints Trail, another large project underway in Woodstock, which will connect Blanket’s Creek Mountain Trails to an entire trail system that will include biking and walking throughout Woodstock.

There’s Always a Catch

Carmax’s donation is contingent upon Elm Street raising an additional $25,000 to begin it’s capital campaign for the project.

You Can Help

This is where you come in. By donating today and encouraging your friends, co-workers, and bosses to support the project. You can be a part of building a lasting legacy for the community of Cherokee County. A chance to put us on the map as destination for artists and those who appreciate the art in life, which means tourism will be up and more sales tax dollars into the county means less of the burden we have to carry alone. So let’s get this project rolling forward, together.
