Canyons Burger Company in downtown Woodstock has a ‘Canyon’s Life‘ link on it’s website. After clicking it you will read…
Canyons is not just a restaurant chain, it’s a lifestyle. If you share our passion for the great outdoors and for great food, we want you to become part of Canyons Life.
and they really mean it. Last week, I stopped in for a burger with some local business owners and was greeted by a great big poster asking me to support ‘Save the Hooch‘. It’s nice to see local Woodstock businesses supporting local charities and non-profits. It’s also nice to see a company actually walk the talk, instead of just pretending to be something they are not.

Canyons really does care about the great outdoors and is certainly committed to it’s local cycling group, as illustrated by it’s second large poster of the new Taylor Randahl Memorial Trail hanging on the community bulletin board (by the way – shouldn’t all local businesses have community boards promoting local life?).
As for the Hooch Burger I bought to help Save the Hooch… fantastic! In fact, all of their burgers are great. My wife and son dig the turkey burger, my mother-in-law likes the portabella burger and I usually mix it up with a different burger each time I visit – never disappointed. So next time you’re in the mood for a good burger and also want to help support a ‘group working to protect and preserve the Chattahoochee River, its tributaries and watershed, for the people, fish, and wildlife that depend upon it’, then stop by Canyons and have a Hooch Burger. Be sure to read their community bulletin board next to the fountain drink machine. You may find other local events worth checking out or see your neighbor’s kid highlighted for their sports achievement, be sure to give them high-5 next time you seem them too!
